Max Levin
Principal & Founder

Max brings more than two decades of experience in the ownership and management of a wide range of real estate projects and ventures. His experience includes overseeing the management and leasing operations of M2 Property Group’s portfolio of more than 6,000 apartment homes across 25 properties in eight states.

Throughout his career, Max has overseen properties requiring large-scale renovations, lease-ups, and capital improvements. He plays an important role in assembling and leading professional teams for each property and project, helping position our communities and teams for long-term success.

Max also holds an Illinois real estate license and continues to use his extensive industry experience to support the growth and operations of M2 Property Group.

Michael Klein
Co-Founder

Michael Klein

Michael, a Licensed Real Estate Broker, co-founded M2 Property Group after working in the field of Real Estate Management, acquisitions and finance since 1999. As a Senior Associate for a leading, national seniors housing lending institution, Michael was responsible for HUD & FNMA loan originations and underwriting for a number of mid-large multifamily and health care property loans. In 2002, Michael joined a local real estate management firm as Property Manager of 250 apartment units located in Chicago and Springfield, IL. As the portfolio grew, so did Michael's responsibilities within the firm and he eventually transitioned to the role of Chief Operating Officer, leading their acquisitions team as well as overseeing operations of 1,500 apartment units in multiple states.

Today, Michael acts as the Managing Broker for M2's Illinois brokerage activity, while also serving in an advisory role for M2's continued growth. He is also an active investor in a number of the apartment communities that M2 manages.

Scott joined M2 Property Group in 2010 after working with several of our assets beginning in 2005. With a property management career spanning more than 30 years, Scott has served in a variety of leadership roles, including Property Manager, Regional Property Manager, and Director of Operations.

Today, Scott oversees the day-to-day property operations of M2’s portfolio. His responsibilities include operational reporting, vendor and resident relations, employee incentive programs, property inspections, policy development, and providing training and support to our management teams. He also oversees M2’s property management database and website.

Scott holds several industry credentials, including Certified Apartment Manager (CAM), Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS), and Certified Property Manager (CPM®). He also holds a Universal Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning EPA 608 Technician Certification and is a Certified Lead Renovator.

Scott’s extensive operational experience and industry knowledge allow him to provide leadership and support across M2’s portfolio while helping our teams and communities succeed.

Rachel Lewis

Rachel, PHR, joined M2 Property Group in 2020 and serves as Human Resources Director, overseeing the human resources needs of employees across the organization nationwide.

With more than 15 years of experience as a human resources professional, Rachel brings a diverse background in human resources, administration, employee training, and leadership. Prior to joining M2, she gained experience in both the hospitality and senior care industries.

Rachel earned her Human Resources Management Certification in 2018 and her Professional in Human Resources (PHR) credential from the HR Certification Institute in 2021. In her role, she supports M2’s employees and leadership while helping guide HR programs, employee relations, training, benefits, and organizational initiatives across the company.

Jason Simpson

Jason joined M2 Property Group in 2014 and brings more than 30 years of accounting experience to the team, with over 20 years focused specifically on the real estate industry. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Northern Illinois University.

In his role, Jason reviews and analyzes financial statements, completes bank reconciliations, and works closely with our Property Managers and Regional Managers to support the financial operations of our communities. He is also responsible for preparing and providing financial reporting to ownership.

Throughout his career, Jason has gained experience with both commercial and residential properties, as well as Section 8, IHDA, CHA, and HUD programs. His extensive accounting and real estate experience make him a valuable resource for our teams and communities.

Reoven Bassala

Reoven serves as a Project Manager for M2 Property Group, where he supports a variety of operational and financial responsibilities. His role includes managing payables and vendor relationships, reviewing financials, and analyzing water usage across our communities.

Reoven earned his degree in Finance from the University of Illinois Chicago, where he also received a certificate in Entrepreneurship. His financial background and analytical skills allow him to support property operations while identifying opportunities for efficiency and improvement.

David Hagage

David serves as both a Project Manager and Regional Manager, overseeing our Chicago and Memphis properties. In his role, he reviews financial reports and budgets, oversees capital improvement projects, and works closely with our teams to support the overall performance of the communities he manages.

David brings valuable industry knowledge and experience to his role. He holds an Illinois real estate license and has completed REAC training, further strengthening his knowledge of property operations and compliance.

With more than 20 years of experience in the property management industry, Garra brings extensive knowledge and expertise to her role, including experience with both HUD and market-rate communities. Her industry background and leadership experience allow her to support our property teams while helping ensure the successful day-to-day operations of the communities she oversees.

Jennifer joined M2 Property Group in 2020 and currently serves as Regional Manager for four apartment communities, overseeing the daily operations of 876 apartment homes across Southfield, South Lyon, and Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Jennifer began her property management career in 1995 and has worked in seven states, bringing a broad range of industry experience to her role. She has also held real estate licenses in several states.

In 2007, Jennifer earned her Accredited Residential Manager (ARM®) designation through the Institute of Real Estate Management. She has also completed coursework in Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, Section 8 compliance, and HUD Real Estate Assessment. Her extensive experience and industry knowledge allow her to provide strong support and guidance to the communities and teams she oversees.

With more than 20 years of experience in real estate and property management, Tara brings a diverse background that includes single- and multifamily housing, as well as industrial, office, and retail properties.

Tara is a licensed real estate broker and earned her bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Economics. Her extensive industry experience and financial background allow her to provide strong leadership and support to the teams and communities she oversees.

He also serves as Maintenance Supervisor for Woodcrest Apartments, Parkside Apartments, and Stone Ridge Square Apartments, where he leads a talented team of technicians who maintain, repair, and renovate apartment homes in-house.

Rick brought more than a decade of multifamily maintenance experience with him when he joined M2 after working for a large national property management firm. He holds a Universal Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning EPA 608 Technician Certification and is also a Certified Lead Renovator and Certified Pool Operator.

Rick’s extensive technical knowledge, hands-on experience, and commitment to developing his teams have made him a valuable leader within M2. His dedication and leadership have also earned him recognition as Supervisor of the Year.

With more than 12 years of experience in the maintenance field, including seven years in a supervisory role, Wayne brings strong hands-on knowledge and leadership experience to his position.

His experience and commitment to maintaining a safe, well-kept community allow him to provide dependable support to both his maintenance team and the residents of Abney Lake.

Throughout her time with M2, Terri’s leadership and dedication have been recognized with the Manager of the Year award multiple times. Her experience and commitment to her team and residents continue to contribute to the success of the Abney Lake community.

Keith is our Maintenance Supervisor, where he oversees repair, maintenance, and contract services for the apartment community. He enjoys coming to work each day to support his team and serve our residents. Creating a safe, well-maintained community while helping his team succeed is something he takes great pride in.

Keith has been in the property maintenance industry since he was 18 and earned his HVAC certifications at 22. Throughout his career, he has gained more than 15 years of supervisory experience, including leading a maintenance team of 15 employees responsible for more than 1,000 apartment homes. These experiences have strengthened his leadership skills and reinforced his commitment to providing exceptional service.

Outside of work, Keith’s favorite place to be is with his grandchildren. Spending time with them is his perfect way to relax, recharge, and enjoy life outside of work.

Dawn began her career in 1988 as a Janitor Helper with the Chicago Housing Authority and has since built more than 30 years of experience in the property management industry. Throughout her career, she has professionally managed communities across the Chicagoland area and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role.

Her extensive industry background and professional certifications make her a valuable resource for her team as she works to support both residents and the successful operation of the community.

In 2021, Angel joined the Home Office team, where she assisted the Regional Manager with administrative responsibilities and supported property managers with the day-to-day operations of their communities. Her experience and continued growth with M2 led to her promotion to Senior Property Manager in 2025.

Today, Angel oversees the day-to-day operations of 417 apartment homes, supporting her teams and helping ensure the communities in her portfolio operate successfully.

Jeff has also shared his experience with others as a member of the Main Team, where he served as a trainer for maintenance technicians working toward their certifications. His industry knowledge and commitment to developing others make him a valuable resource for both his team and our communities.

Melody joined Woodcrest Apartments in 2009 as Property Manager and oversees resident relations, leasing, and the day-to-day operations of 331 apartment homes. She also manages a robust corporate housing program for the community.

With more than 27 years of property management experience, Melody brings extensive industry knowledge and expertise to her role. She is a licensed Illinois Leasing Agent and earned her Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) certification in 2015.

Throughout her career, Melody has been recognized for her dedication and leadership, including being named Property Manager of the Year in both 2010 and 2014, along with receiving several other awards. Her experience and commitment to property management continue to make her a valuable resource for her team and residents.
